Christ calls us to renounce ourselves in Luke 9:22 and welcome the Kingdom of God like a little child in Luke 29:17. In 2 Timothy 2:22 Paul calls us to fasten our attention on holiness, faith, love, and peace, not giving into impulses. And here is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Your body, you know, is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you since you received him from God. You are not your own property; you have been bought and paid for. That is why you should use your body for the glory of God.
Seeing the world with wonder, while remaining Open & Asking, Joyful & Cheerful, while Building Each Other Up when interacting with people, living with Child like joy is what Christ calls us to do. The only thing we really know is the Intense Love of God the Father, Jesus our Brother, and Holy Spirit our Breath for each of us, each and every person they have created.
So as to create people, our Creators Created a powerful draw between men and women to copulation. Our Creators also Created a powerful set of God’s Guidelines for managing this resource and optimizing all of our life, all of our lives. God Guides us to keep copulation between men and women in marriage. Matthew 19:4-9 & 18, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, and others. Our Brother Jesus also Guides us to not even look lustfully: Matthew 5:28-29: You must not commit adultery. But I say this to you: if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
One tool that I have developed to try to keep per spec of our Creator is to pray for the attractive woman to fall further in love with her husband and he with her if she is married. If she is not, I pray for her to find a good Catholic man to fall in love with and marry and for them to fall further in love with each other once married.
I also think of the joy of children I see in church and elsewhere along with how our Brother Jesus The Christ asked us repeatedly to welcome children and to act as children. The joy of children of discovery and being around all people and with each moment is an awesome model and inspiration for how to treat and be with each other.
Being pre-puberty, they do not have the powerful procreative draw. So another thing that helps me is to see, be with, and focus on the inner child with those I am with.
For managing lust and for all of life, our Brother Jesus asks us to go to the second step. After Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit Overwhelm us with Their Love for us and blow us away, He asks us to listen to God’s Guidance and be like a builder of a house with a good, deep foundation.
Luke 6:46-49: ‘Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord” and not do what I say? ‘Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and acts on them-I will show you what he is like. He is like the man who when he built his house dug, and dug deep, and laid the foundations on rock; when the river was in flood it bore down on that house but could not shake it, it was so well built. But the one who listens and does nothing is like the man who built his house on soil, with no foundations: as soon as the river bore down on it, it collapsed; and what a ruin that house became!’
